There's treasure in them there rocks!

Today I went on my Saturday morning bike ride along the Elizabeth River bike trail and I stopped at Plum Point Park to play on the rocks. I looked down and I noticed a little plastic box with a note attached to the top hidden between some rocks. I picked up the box which contained a notebook, a pen, a stamp and and inkpad. This was a letterbox and every finder is supposed to leave a message along with the date of the find. I looked through the book and there were entries dating back to 2003. Some people found the box completely by accident and others found it on purpose (these people stood out since they used their own stamps not the one provided.) When I returned home I went to the letterboxing site and discovered there are boxes hidden all over the world. A few weeks ago I read a story on geocatching, a type of treasure hunt using a GPS, I wanted to go out immediately and buy a GPS just so I could try this out. It might just be the pirate in me, but I love the idea of hidden treasure and scavenger hunts. I encourage everyone to go on a treasure hunt today.

So friends for your last two days? I hope your move goes smoothly, and that you love your new place. I await more info as it comes... Have you been having time to do knitting/sewing? Did I tell ya I got a sewing machine!!!

I can't wait to see what you create with your new sewing machine! I haven't really done much crafting at all in the last few weeks. Everything has been work and moving for the last few weeks. I started a pair of legwarmers on size 10 needles a few weeks ago and I am about 3 inches in now. I am flying to New Mexico on Friday so I am designating those 5 hours to be craft time, I can't wait. I will post pictures of my new place tomorrow, I can't wait to see it in person.
